About Awanita Valley
Awanita Valley, founded in 1955 and is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. Don and Chloe Baltz purchased the property and set up a foundation with a desire to minister to youth in a refreshing way - CAMP! Awanita is the word the Native American Cherokee tribe uses for 'youth'. There were three small houses present when the property was purchased: Safari, Riviera, and Tikki. By the mid 1960's, these houses were sleeping the "uncomfortable 80", and plans for expansion began. Through the years, the Lord has enabled Awanita to continue to reach a greater number of youth. We are now able to accommodate 700 people in three main lodges: Chateau, Tudor, and Williamsburg. We serve over 10,000 people from coast to coast and around the world. Our mission field is vast - Praise God for the facilities to serve Him!
Our Vision
Awanita Valley is dedicated to reaching and discipling people for our Savior, Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.
Our Mission
whisper" of the Holy Spirit. We do not engage in any Biblical teaching except to our own staff and volunteers so any Christian group may use the facilities and lead their own Bible studies and worship. We are dedicated to serving the needs of churches and other Christian groups from the United States and abroad, and will expand as the Lord sees fit.
